Expert Review
Canyon's Aeroad CF SLX 7 Di2 is a razor-focused race bike that feels unexpectedly composed for how aggressive it is. Point it downhill and the front end tracks cleanly; on flats the carbon wheels and the 2x12 Shimano 105 Di2 shifting make it easy to stay in the right gear when the pace spikes. The frame keeps weight in line with category norms while the rigid seatpost and 140/140 hydraulic discs underline its racing intent. Sprinters and crit racers will love the snappy, planted handling, but you trade a bit of compliance for that sharp response.
Pros
- Shimano 105 Di2 electronic 2x12 shifting gives precise, consistent shifts under load
- Carbon wheels complement the frame's race focus and pair well with 25 mm tyres for low rolling resistance
- Tyre clearance to 32 mm adds a touch of versatility for varied road surfaces
- Fourth-generation Aeroad carbon layup increases robustness while keeping the package race-oriented
Cons
- Rigid seatpost reduces compliance on rough roads, so longer rides feel firmer
- 140/140 rotors are compact and neat but may run warmer on sustained heavy braking
Best for :
- Crit racers and fast group riders who prize snappy acceleration
- Sprinters who need quick, planted handling out of corners
- Riders who want electronic shifting with a race-ready aero frame
Not for :
- Tourers or endurance riders seeking a plush ride over rough roads
